In which countries doest the Terra Station work?
The Terra Station works in all countries with unfettered internet connections - you can listen to your backyard birds and stream birdsong from other locations using the app. Note that the bird identification functionality is more limited outside of North America and Europe, but our algorithm is continuously improving and our goal is for Terra to be exceptionally accurate worldwide.
What if I'm shipping to a country outside the US?
Terra ships worldwide and accurate shipping costs are shown in the shopping cart at the time of your purchase. You may be responsible for VAT, taxes, customs duties and any other special costs associated with shipping in your local area.
Can anyone listen to my Terra Station?
No, only you are able to listen to your Terra Station. It is linked to your account and password, and only you and people you share your account info with can access it. We do offer curated sites, which are publicly available locations in specially selected wild areas, and you can access those in our app, but your personal location is always private.
How does monitoring sounds help conservation efforts?
Terra is unique in that it can identify birds and animals both by the sounds they make as well as by picking up radio-tagged animals from researchers. Collectively, Terra Stations across the county and around the world create a giant "net" that tracks wildlife movement and populations, and in turn shares that data with researchers to help conservation.
